Now the logical operation of the system is none other than the concept of operation, and clearly this must be been defined in some way in advance. The concept of operation in turn rests on a set of use cases that need to be broken down into aIf a system is operated via some form of HMI, then a set of workflows should be defined corresponding to the various
Formally the system under development (SuD) is usually called the "System of Interest" (SoI). This is the case in the SEBoK, and in ISO/IEC 42010 rev. 1 (2011). ISO/IEC 42010 rev. 2 (2022) however has moved away from this term and substituted it with "Entity of Interest" (EoI), the reason being that the standard can be applied to any type of system, subsystem or system of systems. The standard does not restrict itself to "computer"-based systems. Nonetheless, since this website is interested only in systems that are based on some form of "programmable logic" .... However, on closer inspection the term is more flexibile, since from the modeling perspective the focus can be shifted from system to subsystem to yet another system - especially relevant when modeling a system-of-systems.
